NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! its 3-D =(

I have to agree with the commenter above. The 3-D depicted in this trailer does not add anything to the gameplay. I think I can speak for a good sector of Rolando purchasers and players when I say that 2 dimensions were enough. In fact, the game was down right charming because of them. My gut reaction to this trailer was that I did not like the 3-D, firstly from an aesthetic point of view–it has an initial wow factor, but most players will just tune it out anyway upon the next viewing–and secondly, and more importantly, it doesn’t add any new information or mechanics to the gameplay. That it, as far as this trailer shows. If you’re going to add the 3rd dimension, then it must be because the Rolandos need to execute some act that can only take place in that third dimension. I.e. adding it in must serve a purpose. Otherwise, pretty or not, it will just be distracting or ignored. And I’m not saying it’s pretty. The 3rd dimension demonstrated by the trailer does not add any new texture, and if it did, would it really be texture unable to be conveyed in 2 dimensions? Please reconsider the 3rd dimension of Rolando 2. If it is necessitated by some vital new “dimension” of gameplay not shown in this trailer, then by all means, but if this is not so . . . then you’re better off doing like a good writer, director, etc. and editing out all superfluous material.
I’m a huge fan of your work so far. I gladly payed $10 the first week Rolando was released and will undoubtedly purchase Rolando 2 on the first day. I only hope that Rolando 2 carries on the elegance and charm of Rolando by not having anything it doesn’t need.

Looks awesome, can’t wait to buy it (that’s not an invitation to bump up the price :P ) the original was endless hours of fun, especially with the secret levels now. I’m also unsure about the 3D aspect, though I’m sure you’ll do a much better job than “bike or die” did, and it will allow for more detailed levels (less floating rocks maybe) which helps, now that there is an adventure story and island to go with it

can’t wait to see more

I think I like the 3D. The only thing I miss is the parallax scrolling in the background! With that aside, I’m really excited overall. It looks like you’re expanding upon the Rolando universe in really interesting ways. Props to Mikko, the new designs look great! I really dig the new enemies.

That actually makes me quite moist. “gcefl”, please stop your whining, you will just not know how damp you will be until you play it. I like 3D it is yesterday’s future and tomorrow’s world.
