Possibly the best online game I’ve ever played. Words escape me. Play Rose & Camelia right now.

Wow. Developed by internal Sony studios (SCEI), this puzzle title for PSP and PS3 (downloadable) picks up from Kuju/Zoe Mode’s Crush and takes gives it an M.C. Escher flavoured remix. By rotating the camera to a new fixed position, the behaviour of the 3D environment alters radically. Clever use of an orthographic projection allow for different paths in entirely seperate sections to combine to form a new single path. A beautiful, elegant bit of game design. Love it.
Edit: Follow up. This is a development of work by Jun Fujiki, from a project called OLE Coordinate System. You can download a fully working prototype there for PC or view a youtube movie here. Looks like theres much more online, and that he has presented at SIGGRAPH. Check out this online Java demo here - Individuality.
It is being developed for PS3 and PSP by Digital Meister.

Just got round to posting the first result of mucking around at home - For the Boids. Its something I’ve being meaning to wrap up for a while now - a more comprehensive look at Steering Behaviours (as a continuation of my obsession with emergent behaviour and interesting systems). Its a relatively simple setup - 70 prey and one predator. Its very much a case of killing several birds with one stone - I’ve finally got a chance to wrap up OpenSteerDotNet - my C# port of Craig Reynolds OpenSteer Library, I’ve got a chance to have a play with Unity to see whether it fits my needs, and I’ve hopefully got back in the groove of making personal work.
Nice to see a bit of freelance go live - this time its Rhythm of Lines. I spent a few weeks with Good Technology working on this promotional site for the new Audi A5. My main involvement was on the 3D side of things - designing the animations in Maya, writing a custom Python/Maya exporter and creating a custom line-renderer for everyone’s favourite, Papervision 3D. Oh and the 3D menu after you’ve finished your composition.
Kudos to the very talented Stephen and the rest of the GT guys for adding the polish and their hard work - its finished up really nice.
